Data analysis by Swedish-based health and fitness app, Lifesum, has revealed Bristol as the UK’s leading superfood city, with an average of 3.9 superfoods eaten per person, each day.
The app, which has more than 12 million downloads worldwide, studied data from major urban areas across the country, to identify which cities consumed the most superfoods, with Bristol coming out on top.
Bristol was followed closely by Glasgow and Birmingham, while London came in at number four, with Liverpool, Leeds and Edinburgh among other cities in the top 10.
Lifesum’s results were taken from data logged between November 2015 and January 2016, with its in-house nutritionist Frida Harju analysing the behaviour of app users.
Meanwhile different superfoods were also ranked based on the number of times they were logged by Lifesum users, with avocado named the most popular superfood in Bristol and across the UK.
With more than 12 million users nationwide, Lifesum creates tailored plans to help promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle, allowing users to track food and exercise, along with receiving tips and inspiration.
