Little ones and their families can tackle a short run around Bristol Harbourside, when The Great Bristol 10k launches its inclusive Family Mile event.

The Great Bristol 10k and Half Marathon will be launching a brand new family-friendly event on Sunday 15 May 2016, with the inclusive Great Bristol Family Mile at Bristol Harbourside.

Aimed at everyone aged three and above, the Family Mile is designed to help families get fit and active together, with the chance to walk, jog or run around the course.

The course will be based around the main event village, with lots of spectators and supports guaranteed to be cheering little ones to the finish line where all participants will receive a finisher’s medal.

Tom Westman, event manager of the Great Bristol 10k said: ‘We’re really pleased to be able to include a family element in the event this year. It’s so important to encourage children to enjoy being active from a young age.

The event will start and finish at the main event finish line, hopefully we’ll inspire some young runners of the future to take on the 10k in years to come.’
